Co., protection , for twelve months for Ravenswbod and Ru- ! venswood Extended claim-;' Thomas Han ley I protection, sis mouths, for Brown Hills i claim. j MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. Tangiaro.—The northern drive is now in I 43ft, and an average sample from the face j gives an assay valne of £1 14/1 per ton, and | shows free gold in the dish. From this ; point the backs will rapidly increase to 530 j it. as the country rises \xwy abruptly north- ! wards. in preparing for ttie south drive ; the reef has been exposed 4ft wide, carrying nice ore. Fifty feet of driving in this j direction will give some 150 ft of backs, and i -UOft further south the country rises to 330 ft above the creek level. I have discovered a new reef running into your property, bat , so far nothing has been done upon it j Karn.ngahake.—Mr Ross has been appointed manage- or the Karangahake mine, and , took charge on Monday. A contract has i been let for an aerial tramway to take ■; qnartz from the upper workings to the low i I level, and this- is expected -to be completed ,i m two weeks. Carpenters are at work , ! erecting an office, and 12 men are work- . j ing in the mine, while two men are excavat- | ing for a quartz paddock. It will be fnliy '; a week before we will be in a position to , break any more quartz, but then something , good should be reported. I Tangiaro.— Upon instructions from Mr Firth, i ha.Te put on three men. and hay» . estended the northern drive 20ft for the . , three weeks ending December ISth. This ] drive is now in 43ft, and an average sample from the face aives an assay value of £1 | 1-/1 per ton. aud shows free gold in the disn.
