A FATAL FALL.

WAIHI, this day. , Mrs. Canavan, of Owharoa, who for several weeks past has been an inmate of the hospital, suffering from injuries received through a fall into the river whilst in a fit, has succumbed at that instituion. The coroner's inquest touching the death of Mrs. Canavan was held last night. It was shown that deceased -was kicked by a horse on the back of the neck about seventeen years ago,-and that some time afterwards epileptic fits developed, to which she had been a victim ever since. About three weeks prior to the accident she had been to a specialist in Auckland, and was under treatment when the accident occurred. It appeared she was out for a walk at Owharoa with her little girl, and, when passing over a culvert, she took a bad turn, and fell over into a feeder of the river. Assistance Was procured by the little girl, and Mrs. Canavan was found by Mr. Maurice Davies lying in about four or five feet of water. She was brought to the Waihi Hospital, where she had been ever snips suffering from fracture of the spine, f Dr. Craig, who made a post mortent examination, stated that the fractura was sufficient to have caused death. The jury returned a verdict that deceased met her death as the result of an injury received by falling off a culvert on the main road between Owharoa and Karangahake, on Sunday, November, 20,
