Waiotahi shares showed little improvement, sales being made up to 6/9,- -whereas yesterday as low as 5/10 was accepted. More shares are still wanted at 6/3, but ers ask 6/9. Other Thames lines showed little change to-day. Waihi shares were i a shade firmer, being sold up to 173/6, and more could have been placed at a little under that figure. Grand Junctions -were wanted at 38/-, Consolidated— at 1/5, and Extendeds sold at 5/3. Fnr- : -her free sales were made of New Waitftkanri shares at 1/7 and 1/6, more being offered at the latter price, Ngatiawa shares eased a little, being sold at i/ 6. The only transactions reported in standard stocks were Northern Stoam at S/- for contributing shares, Kauri Timber Company at 7/4, and"N.Z. Ce- . ment at 36/6. ! MINE MANAGEES' REPORTS. j May Queen Extended.—There has been a further breaking <lowd of the reef going f west from Hans-j's wii__:e. The lode is , 161n in -width, and shows dabs and colours 1 of gold most evenly distributed through the : quartz. The whole of the ore is being - saved' for crushing. Timbering in the _ew • intermediate has been completed, and wort . resumed in the face, which is in fiist-class country, carrying strong veins of quartz.
