(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) MARTON, Thursday. Wet weather prevailed for the second day's raeiug of the Marton Jockey Club's spring meeting, and the course was very heavy. The sum passed through tlie totalisator tar both days was £13,576, against £12,----420 for last year's spring meeting. There were a number of falls in the Steeplechase, and F. Whitehouse (rider of Bullworth) received internal injuries, and was removed to a private hospital. Results:— Electric Handicap.—Kareroa 1, Nukutihi 2, Narrow Escape 3. Also ran: Goldwai, P"enrlie, Alpigene. Won easily by two lengths. Time, 1.10. Dividends, £3 4/ and 11/. Hack Steeplechase.—Redshank 1, Morpeth 2, Columbine 3. Also ran: Peruvian, Pilot, Bullworth, Kereru, Whipcord, Mangolia. Only the placed horses finished, the others falling. Won easily. Time, 5.33. Dividends, £14 2/ and £1 14/. Marton Handicap.—St. Joe 1, Saga 2, Lyrist 3. Also ran: St Albert, Mahoe, Hiro. There was a good finish, half a length separating the winner. Time, 2.13. Dividends, £2 11/ and £1 15/. Welter Handicap.—Belario 1, White Lie 3, Commander 3. Also ran: Cats-eye, Sylvan Park, Glenafric. Killarney. Won easily by three lengths. Time, 1.42 3-5. Dividends, £1 9/ and £1 5/. Hurdle Race.—Dulcinea 1, Compass 2, Lerida 3. Also ran: Waitoa. Hurimoana, Rahui. Won by a head. Time, 3.17 2-5. Dividends £2 2/ and £2 17/. Final Scurry.—Ney' 1, Pearlie 2, Green Leaf 3. Also ran: Pixie, King's Post, Nordoff, Porangi, Muskerada, Akurongo, Neke Atu. ' Won by a short head.' A protest for boring was dismissed. Time, 555. Dividends, £2 and £1 11/.
