MESSRS ALFRED BUGKLAND AND SONS' REPORT. Horses: At the Haymarket on Friday last horses were yarded in average numbers. Aged and worn heavy draughts sold at from £15 10/ to £25; medium draughts, J23 to £27 10/; buggy horses and good hacks, £15 to £19; light harness and ordinary hacks, £5 to £13; good ponies, £9 10/ to £12; weeds at all prices. We had a fair yarding of cattle at our Kaipara Flats yards oil Monday. Everything found buyers. Three and a half to four-year-old steers, in condition, sold from £5 12/G to £6 5/; two and a half to three-year-olds, £4 4/ to £4 15/; heifers in calf, to £3 10/; fat cows and heifers, £3 6/ to £4 10/; yearling heifers, £1 9/. At Wellsford on Tuesday, the yards were fairly well filled, and, with few exceptions, all were disposed of at full values. Dairy cows, fresh calved, £5 5/ to £6; others, £3 to £4 7/6; empty cows, £1 10/ to £2 15/6; fresh empty heifers, £2 1/ to £3; 2 to 3-year-old steers, £3 17/ to £4 10/; 18 months to two-year-olds, £2 18/; young bulls, £2 10/ *o £"4 12/6; small pigs, 6/6 to 13/. At Remuera on Thursday dairy cows, penned in small numbers, were dull of sale. Those near their profit sold to £8 10/, dry to £3. The advertised store bullocks were a well-bred and nice-conditioned lot. Owing to the extra heavy rains bidding was not too keen. Those sold realised from £6 10/ to £6 IS/. Fat and young calves, short of requirements, sold freely from 2/ to 46/; 03 sold. Fat cattle, penned in average numbers, were better worth, ox and heifer beef selling to 31/ per 1001b, cow to 21/. Steers ranged in price from £5 10/ to £12 10/; cows, £4 10/ to £9 7/6; 317 sold. There was but a moderate muster of fat sheep. Those sold freely, best wethers selling to 35/, others to 28/; heavy ewes to 28/3, lighter weights to 20/. The hoggets advertised brought from 10/ to 15/3. Pigs, scarce, brought late values throughout
