FIRE AT TAPANUI.

DUNEDIN, this day

A fire which occurred at Tapanui at daylight this morning, resulted in the destruction of the Prince of Wales' boarding house, formerly a hotel, kept by Mr. William Whitfield, and a dentist's premises, occupied by Mr. Thompson. Mr. Whitfield's boarding house was insured for £100 in the Allian-ce Office, and the contents for £100 in the New Zealand office. Mr. Thompson's stock Sras insured for £50.
