BODY IN A TREE.

MYSTERY FROM OLD DAYS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORNE, this day. At Waimata in the hollow of a large tree have been found the remains of a man with a rifle and a decayed handbag beside him. There is nothing by which to identify the deceased, and death must have occurred many years ago. The suppposition is that he was wounded during the Native trouble many years ago, and took refuge in the tree, where he died.
