MASONIC NEWS.

On Saturday afternoon the annual instal lation of officers of Lodge Ponsonby, No. 70S, S.C., took place In the Freemasons' Hall, Karangahape-road. Bro. W. L. Harding was- installed as W.M. by Bro. "F. Crosby, Installing Master. Bros. C. W. Spoouer, W.M. Lodge Ara, 345, 1.C., and Bro. R. L. Monteath, V/.M. Waitemata Lodge, 6SO, E.G., acted as presenting officers. The working tools in the third degree were presented by Bro. A. P. Bowring, W.M. Lodge St. Andrew, 418, S.C.; in the second degree by Bro. J. W-. Boag, W.M. Eden Lodge, lt>3o, E.C.; and in the first degree by Bro. C. R. George, W.M. Lodge Harmouy, 21S0, E.C. The newly-installed R.W.M. invested his officers fof the ensuing twelve months as follows: —D.M., Bro. W. Handley, P.M.; S.M., Bro. T. A. J. Taylor, P.M.; S.W., Bro. F. Wilkinson; J.W., Bro. A. T. Coppard; Secretary, Bro. J. Campling; Treasurer, Bro. M. .T. Bennett, P.M.; D. of 1.., Bro.o A. G. Baddlley. P.M.; 8.8., Bro. J. McEeod, P.M.; Chaplain, Bro. F. Bundle, P.M.; S.D., Bro. J. Smith; J.D., Bro. R. .7. Hill: I.G-, Bro. H. Ponlton; Organist, Bro. H. Tavlor: Tyler. Bro. G. T. Codlin; S.S., Bro. J. Hume: J.S., Bios. J. McStay, F. W. Sparfces, aud T. H. Rath bone. The address to the W.M. was delivered to the Master by W. Bro. W. McCullough, D.G.M., S.C., N.L N.Z.; to the Wardens by W. Bro. A. S. Bankart, P.M.. P..D.G.S.W-, E.C; and to the brethren by Bro. W. Caron. P.M., D.G.S. At the conclusion of the ceremony Bro. W. McCullough presented the retiring W.M., Bro. F. Crosby, with a Past Master's jewel as a mark of the appreciation of the officers and brethren of Lodge Ponsonby of his conduct in the chair during his term of office. There was a capital attendance of members and visiting brethren. The musical portion of the ceremony was efficiently rendered by the organist, Bro. A. Shoreland, ably assisted by Bro. F. E. F. Weir, soloist, several members and visiting brethren.
