CORRUPTION IN RUSSIA.
THE SIBERIAN RAILWAY. REVELATIONS REACH THEIR CLIMAX. (Received 5.30 a-m.) ST. PETERSBURG, August 15. The official inquiry into the defalcations from the Siberian railway in the war time shows that the contents of 1600 waggons disappeared, and that the State Yvas defrauded of £750,000 at one station.
[It was the Grand Duchess Elizabeth who first laid bare the horrible corruption connected Yvith the 'various supply and 'transport departments of the Russian army. For example, on insisting on opening one lot of cases alleged to contain Red Cross appliances and supplies, they were proved by the Princess to contain nothing but bricks. 1^
