ADULTERATION OF CAPE WINE.
CAPETOYVN, August 15. A bill to prevent the adulteration of wine and brandy was introduced in the Cape Legislative Assembly yesterday. It prohibits the use of cane sugar, salicylic acid, and other foreign substances in the making of wine. Proper labeOing is to be made compulsory. Mr. J. X. Merriman said it was now almost impossible to obtain a bottle of good Cape wine.
