SCENE IN THE HOUSE. VIOLENT ATTACKS ON MR. BENT. (Received 10.19 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. in angry scene occurred in the Legislative Assembly last night, Mr. Solly hav_s characterised Mr. Bent's administration as the most corrupt Victoria ever hai Mr. Roily was ordered to r.tire from the Chamber. When he was allowed return he withdrew his remark, but jlleoed it was made to him by a supporter of the Government. During the excitement Mr. Bennett denominated Mr. Bjnt as "a scandalous old rascal." He subsequently withdrew the ranark, but asked for a Royal Commission to inquire into the purchase of the Chirnside Estate, as corruption had been •sMspered. i
