FATAL RAILWAY ACCIDENT.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NAPIER, Friday. An accident which resulted fatally occurred at Hastings this evening. Just as the five p.m. train for Napier was leaving that place an elderly man named William Tait attempted to get on the train while it was moving, and somehow got under the carriage, a, portion of the train going over his lower limbs, and crushing both leg 3 below the knee. He was brought to Napier, and admitted to the hospital, where he died ahout half-past eight p.m.
