SU KUTSME COURT SENTENCES. WELLINGTON, this day. In the Supreme Court to-day Francis Gordon Waddell, found guilty of assault on S. Gilmour, was sentenced to eighteen months' imprisonment.

The inquest was resumed to-day on Archibald McKay, who, with a fellow ■worker named Anderson, is alleged to have died from the effects of poisoning at the Cement Works. McKay's wife said he told her he had been mixing some acid in a cask to burn the zinc off some wire-netting, and that he had inhaled the fumes. Dr. Evans was of opinion that death was due to poison circulating in the blood as the primary cause. MISCELLANEOUS TrKMR. •
