CONCERT AT TAKAPUNA.
' In order to raise funds for a tennis court and recreation ground for the Takapuna public school, a concert was held last night, which proved a great success. All the items were contributed either by present scholars or former pupils. Some of the contributions of the children were of exceptional merit, and the programme throughout was most enjoyable, reflecting credit, not only on the scholars, but also upon those who arranged the concert. The Takapuna Hall was crowded, with the result that the sum of £9 was raised by the efforts of the pupils. Votes of thanks were accorded Miss Hutton for loan of a, piano, to Mr. Booker for granting free •use of the hall, and to Miss Curtis, Miss Tidd, and Mr Hames, who inaugurated and carried out the concert so successfully. "Walters and Miss Cottingham; piano selection, "Polish Dance," Miss Mactier; school song, "The Brook," by school children, under Miss Tidd; piano selection, "Fairy Barque," Miss Ada Kemp; recitation, "The Wife Who Sat Up," Miss Thomas; violin volo, "Langmead," Athol Hart: dialogue, "The Tradesmen's Dispute," by several school boys; piano duet, "Flower Gatherers," Miss Mactier and Bryce Hart; "Canadian Boat Song," hy a number of girls, arranged by Miss Tidd, assisted by Miss Curtis; piano selection. "The Brook," Miss Patrick; recitation, "Hurrah! For England," Miss li.. Se_roan: song, "Vanity Fair," Miss I.
