MINK MANAGERS' REPORTS. New Sylvia.—The reef has opened out to a tiae body of highly miueraiised ore, of which about rift is being tajien iv the drive, and quartz still shows in the side, so cauuut give tlie exact width. Judging from the thickness btt back from the lace, it should be Ttt or brt wide. The quartz lias a jjood appearance, mid. a few colours or golu were seen in tue stone. The distance driven iroui the winze is 30tt, and the reel is iniyruv fug.
New Mounauiiari. — In the winze below Nu. a level tlie reef below i≤ being broiien out lor a width of about 4it. The country cm the hangingwan for the pu.st lew feet is much firmer and of a better quality for sold. The work of again extending tlie S.E. crosscut has ueen determined on Xt>r tlie. purpose of thoroughly prospecting the large section or ttie company's ground lying to the southeast of tne Waiocahj mine, and as the recent development worts iv the latter company's ground are proving that, the Waiotahi main reef and the- Cambria reef are two separate bodies, it will at once be seen that the car-ryiug out-of this work is of great importance. Besides the propect likely lo bo obtained iv the intersection of the Waiotahi reef, there is also the Mariner's and other r"cfs from the old Priuce Imperial (now Victoria) mine, striking through this section of the -company's ground for its entire length. These lodes wore last operated tin in the eastern section of the Prince Imperial, and were strong ore bodies likely to tw> highly payable when passing tUrougli the cross section of golden country striking south from the Waiotahi mine.
New Saxon.—Stoping operations above No. 4 level on.the Cardigan-lode" have been continued. Xo. 1 block have now been stoped up practically to the level of the top of the main rise. The crosscut connecting the top of thp rise with the bottom of the winze is about completed and opening , out past yinct West from the latter point will be commenced on Monday next, when better results are anticipated. In the No. 2 block no important change lias talwn place. Some of the quartz looks really -nrell and carries a large percentage of zinc blende and other favourable minerals, although but little gold has been s°en. Crushing on behaif of the company Is proeeedVn.2. about 2~> loads of quartz being on Hand from the stopes.
