SUNDAY NIGHT LECTt RE
There was a moderate attendance at the Federal Hall last evening to hear Tasnian G. Carey lecture on the "Psychological Nature, of Maa." Before his address the lecturer read extracts from the Bible and the "Eastern Scriptures which spoke of mind in its three aspects—animal, intellectual, and spiritual. . The speaker gave evolutionary examples of these aspects of
psychological unfo' . "The lowest types of man were. il, moved? to action by instinctive ■-, ..mis, in the next stage by thought conceptions, and In the 'highest stage, or Christ life, oy spiritual inspiration. The processes of development through- each of these stages were specially explained. At the close of the address the majority of the audience remained via conr sulfation as to the best means of organisation for permanently carrying on Mr Carey's lectures.
MASONIC INSTALLATION
The installation of oißcers in connection vr.th Lodge Manukau, No. 24. N.K.C., took place at the. Masonic Hail, Onchunga, last Thursday evening, when there was a large attendance* including visitors. Bower, S.D.; Bro. H. Harrison, J.D.; W. Bro. G. J. Browne, organist; Bro. K. Cook, 1.G.; Bros. W. E. Watts, T. H. Pardtngton, K. Dillicar, S.S.; Bros. G. Suiter and F. G. Hood, J.S:; Bro. W. Chi Ids, tyler. Amongst • the visitors, in addition to the installing master, wore:— W. Bro. R. "W. Gallaugher, W.M. Lodge Ara. N..Z.C; W. Bio. G. E. Read. W.M. Lodge Arii, 1.c.; W. Bro. J. D. "Webster, W.M. Lodge St. Andrew, N.Z.C; W. Bro. R. Finlay, W.M. Lodge United- Service, N.Z.C.; \V. 'Bro. W. T. -Smith, /TC-M.. Lodge Auckland; N.Z.C K.W. Bro. " KearsJey, U.S.W., was director of ceremonies, while W. Bro. G. J. Browne, P.M., was musical director. After the ceremony the remainder of the evening was spent in harmony. The additions and Improvements to _the hall, taken in hand some time ago by Bro. E. Wood, were completed In time for the Installation, and came in for general commendation.
