NEW ZEALAND FOOTBALLERS.
CLOSE OF RECORD TOUR. SWANSEA MATCH AND AFTER. {Bj Cable.—Freae Association. —Copyright.) SYDNEY, February 7. The "Daily Mail" says the New Zealanders concluded the most triumphant football tour on record with the Swansea match. Tbc "All Blacks'' began the attack, but Owens, with a magnificent kick to over half-way, relieved, and the Swansea forward? took up the attack. The ball, coming from the loose, Scrimes picked up 15 yards from the line, and after a grand effort ho got over between Wallace and McGregor with a really excellent try. but the kick went wide. The visitors had an excellent change to equalise through Thomson, but he failed to take it in the most unaccountable manner. The Swansea forwards were doing splendidly, and were aided by the backs, who kicked really well against a strong wind, only to find Wallace send them back with splendid kicks into touch.
Prom a flying kick Wallace received at about the 40 yards' mark, and coolly dropped a grand goal with the left foot. This clever movement was deservedly applauded. There were two star artists in the match, Wallace for the winners, and Serimes for the losers. Wallace was a treat to watch, his fielding and toucbr kicking being perfect, while the dropped goal was worth going miles to see. The New Zealanders had a triumphal journey to London. Cheering crowds assembled at nearly every station, while at Paddington there was a spontaneous welcome. All the porters and others on duty rajiged up on the platform and greeted the team with cheer on cheer.
