PLENIPOTENTIARIES APPOINTED.
JAPAN'S TERMS TO BE DISCUSSED. AN ARMISTICE TO BE OBSERVED MEANWHILE. HEAVY DEMANDS MADE. INDEMNITY NOT DISCLOSED. (.Received 5.26 a-tn.) LONDON, June 11. As tire res-alt of tie negotiations wbicb have been in progress for the past three or four days, the belligerent Powers have agreed to appoint plenipotentiaries to discuss the terms of peace. Advices received in Washington are to the effect that it is probable that, when the plenipotentiaries have been appointed, an armistice will be declared ie—til tbeir deliberations have been concluded. President Roosevelt, having taken a forward part in assisting the negotiations, it is probable that the plenipotentiaries will meet in Washington. It is understood at St. Petersburg tbat Japan makes the f olio—ring demands: A protectorate over Cores. The complete evacuation of Manchuria by the Russians The retention of Port Art_ai and the Liaotnag Peninsula by Japan. Tbe cession to Japan of the railway to Harbin, with probable reimbursement of Russian capital. The cession of Saghalien Island to Japan. The ques-tion of indemnity -will be considered last. M-.cn depends on tbe durability of the peace. If it is only a pa-ten cr —> inge_ient Japan's terms will be heavier. TOKIO MARKET BUOYANT. (Received 5.26 ajn.) LONDON, June 11. As a result of the peace negotiations the Tokio stock market is buoyant, with a lively upward tendency, indicating the Japanese belief that Russia is in earnest in her desire to sec-ore peace.
