Press Association.—Copteight.] Every day the prospects of peace become brighter, and to-night's cables have a very promising tone. Japan's terms have not been announced from Tokio, but they have been published in St. Petersburg, and the demands which she makes are fairly e_tensive, including, as they do, the complete evacuation of Manchuria, the cession of the island of Saghalien and of the Siberian railway from Port Arthur to Harbin, together with the payment of an indemnity. An armistice will probably be observed while the negotiations proceed.
