HARBOUR BOARD NOMINATIONS
Mr F. L. Prime has received the following nominations of candidates for seat* on the Harbour Board: Mr Herbert Rubin l'ooki>. nominated by Messrs. VV. U. Hazard and F. Marsden: Mr Charles Craven Dacre. nominated by Messrs. John Nearing and Kmos Bond; Mr John Thomas Julian (present chairman I. nominated by Messrs P. Virtue (Northern Roller Milling Company) and F. W. Smith: Mr John Mclntyre Laxon ( retiring member i. nominated by Messrs. VV. H. Fourrtney and A. B. Robertson: Mr James Milne Mennie. nominated by Hon. E. Mitcholson and Mr M. M. Mt-Callum; Mr William Johnson Parker (retiring membepr). nominated by Messrs. James Smith and T. T. Masefield: Mr Alex. Alison (retiring member*. nominated by Messrs. W. D. Holgate and R. S. Reynolds. Nominations closed at 12 o'clock, and the election will be held next Monday at the Harbour Board office, the polling hours beinir between 9 a.m. and c p.m. Mr John Brown was also nominated, but was rejected by the returning officer owing to his name not being on the roll of voters, the candidates therefore not being eligible for election. Mr W. J. Philson. being the only candidate nominated to represent the Chamber of Commerce, is therefore reL'trned tor another term unopposed.
