Mr Gco. Stephenson's New English Opera Company, which concluded a successful season in Hie Majesty's Theatre last night, left Auckland by the Zealandia for Gisborne and the East Coast towns. The new Gaiety Company that takes the place at Hie Majesty's arrived by the Rarewa to-day. A bolt occurred in Upper Queen-street this morning. The two horses attached to a four-wheeler standing outside the Queen's Head Hotel were frightened by the crack of a whip, and* uashed off up the street. The wheel was chained, and this caused the cab to swerve on to the footpath just outside Button Bros.' shop, the three verandah posts being all carried away. The verandah, which was very strongly constructed, did not collapse, being held up by the joists. Two of the poets from the adjoining verandah were displaced, tut the third prevented it falling. The horses then pulled up. The cab was slightly damaged. ,
