WAIBOA METHODIST CHURCH. The Rev. S. H. D. Peryman presided on Wednesday evening over the quarterly meeting of the Northern Wairoa Methodist Church. The roll showed a membership of 116, and, according to the balaneeaheet, the quarter's receipts totalled £&1 7/1! with an expenditure of £75 3/3, tbe deficit thus being reduced by £16 '6/10. There etui remained, however, a circuit debt of £80. The resignation of Mr P. W. Matthews, local preacher, who Is leaving the district, was accepted with reeret. and the hearty thanks of the meeting were tendered to Mr and Mrs Matthewt* tor their services to the church. Messrs M. Harding and J. Tronnson were appointed representatives to conference. The election of church officers resulted as follows:—Circuit stewards, Messrs French and Wordsworth; society stewards— AraLapu, Messrs T. NleJa, S. Wilson, L. Simons, H. and G. Stu li worthy; Te Kopuru, Messrs Robertson and f. Wlddup; Arapoh lie. Messrs U. Sills, Sfatde, and W. J- Warren; Graham's Fern, Mr Slade. Other centres were unaltered. Mangawhare sacramental steward, Mrs Bareley. It was resolved to thank Mr Copeland, student niissloner of Arapobue, and Mrs Peryman and Miss Levy for their hospitality. WAEEEMATA SHOW. The Waiteznata Agricultural Association met on Saturday at Waiirera to make arrangements for the agricultural and horticultural allow to be held at Waiwera on February 1. Among the offers of special prizes were those-of Major Whitney /jr ponies 12 hands and. under, and Mr Harvey's prize for tbe progeny of hie stallion, Captain Wright. The" matter of excursion steamers from Auckland, Matakana, and Warkworth was also discussed. a letter from the secretary of the Auckland show recommended certain judge*, and the secretary was authorised t* ask the gentlemen named to act in the capacity of judges at tbe Waitemata show.
