MATAMATA ESTATE.
' Speaking at the Auckland Land Board to-day regarding the Matamata Settlement, Mr H. J. Greenslade said' he felt sure members would bepleaied to know that everything was progressing most satisfactorily. At the homestead about 60 were being milked, - and the herd was "being increased to 105, while it was anticipated that this season the recently opened creamery would receive the milk of from 600 to 700 cows. He would not be surprised from what he had learned if next season 1500 t0.2000 cows were milked. The erection of a suitable school build- • ing was urgently needed, but this matter was now receiving the attention of . the Board .of Education. Hβ urged 'that the settlers should be granted the use of the large shed ior shearing purposes. This was agreed to.
