A BOGUS TELEGRAM.
FINED £50. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDDf, Tuesday. At tlie Police Court. David Gibspn, alias Mason, alias Batty, was vrith causing a telegraphic message purporting to be signed by Edward Mason to be sent, such message being signed ivifhout thp authority of the said Edward Ma-son. The evidence showed that i message had hem sent to F. G. Tab-a-rt. auctio-neer, Christchurch, signed '£■• Mason, who was a farmer near Ghristcliurch, and vras conducting business transactions with Tabart. asking for £80. Arrangements were mad"? to ■*end the. money, but Tabart, becomi-.ig ■suspicions. the paym<-nt, and -•caused was arrested. Accused, through bis snlic-itf>r. pleaded guilty. It was stated that he was a grazier, and had bought property in Hawke's Bay. for i-hich ho paid £tiGO. .A fine of £50 wasi inflioted
