The Russians at Liao-yang are now regarded as in an immediately precarious position. The Standard publishes a despatch which states that only one \ defensible post remains between Idao-yang and the Japanese troops

under General Knroki.

There is every sign of the keenest suspense in Russia as to the fate of the town.
