AUCKLAND ART EXHIBITION.

Pictures are now being sent to the Choral Hall for the annual exhibition in connection with the Auckland Society of Arts. This will be the twentythird annual exhibition, but the society has organised them irregularly since 1870, and is probably the oldest institution of its kind south of the Line A large r.umber of works have already been sent in. but the heavy rain of the past day or two has caused delay, and the time for receiving has been extended until noon to-morrow. The society's members have been working well curing the year, and a good exhibition, with merit uniformly distributed, is promised.
