PAEROA FIRE BRIGADE.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) PAEROA, this day. A meeting of householders was held last evening to receive the resignation of the fire prevention council appointed to control the finances of the Volunteer Fire Brigade, and to appoint a fresh council. Mr Forrest presided, and there was a fair attendance of householders. Efforts were made to induce the council to withdraw its resignation, but with' out avail, and the following new council was then appointed: Messrs. Moresby, Howie, Searle, Quick, and Bush. At a meeting held subsequently Mr Moresby was appointed chairman, and Mr Searle secretary.
