GOVERNMENT OFFICES TRANSFERRED.

WELLINGTON, this day. I learn that the following transfers of Inspectors of Machinery are now being made: Of two inspectors lately appointed, namely, Mr Cullen and Mr Ramsay. The former will assist in the Wellington district, the latter in Otago district, succeeding Inspector Sharp, who has been promoted to the charge of Napier district, with headquarters at the newly-established district office in Napier. Inspector Hood, at present assisting in the Auckland district, is promoted to the charge of Nelson district. Inspector Grant, who is assisting in Wellington district, will be transferred to Auckland district, to fill the vacancy there caused by the promotion of Inspector Hood. Superannuation allowance of £331 a year has been awarded to Mr Gaw, who retires from the position of chief traffic manager on the New Zealand railways on Monday next.
