VOLUNTEER NOTES.
Owing to the death of Sirs L<ee, wife of Drill-shed caretaker, the shed was closed for to-day, and there will therefore be no paiades at the shed to-night. Signalling class under the instruction of S. M. McDonnell is being well attended, the corps represented being College Rifles, Gordons, and No. 1, 2 and 3 Natives. Rumour has It that n new quartermastersergeant Is to be appointed In place of Q.M. S. Dines, of the Newton Rifles, who has resigned, after heing connected with the battalion its formation. Private W. Cox, of the Victoria Rifles, was farewelled at a full diess parade of the corps last night, prior to leaving for the Bisley meeting. A number of the N.C.O.'s of No. 1 Battalion are at present up for the quarterly examination, which is being 'held *this week. Rumour says that two members of the staff left their great coats.in a cab on Good Friday morning, with the irrepiessible bun in them. Rather early in the morning (my informant thinks) to forget such a useful article of clothing.
