FIRE AT TITIRANGI.

A fire at Titirangi, near Manuka v Heads, early this morning, destroyed a residence owned by Mr Andrew Morehead, who is at present residing in Sydney, and occupied by his brother. Mr R. W. Morehead. The origin of the fire is a complete mystery. Mr Morehead had breakfast at the house in the morning, and did not enter it sgain until just before retiring. He was awakened by a crack-ling sount at about 2 o'clock this morning, and on rushing to the door was met by a sheet of (lames. Immediately shutting the door he dashed out of the window. Dfing unable to save anything but hi* clothps. The house, which was valued at about .L'4oo. was with all its contents reduced to ashes, the furniture, which was uninsured, beinp valued at between £60 and £100. The house was insured for £200 with the Commercial Union.
