BOROUGH MEETINGS.
The ordinary meeting of the Parnell Borough Council last night was attended by the Mayor (Mr J. Fitt), and Messrs Beale, Basley, Petford, Woods, Fowler, Slator, Briggs, Foster, and Thomas. The Water Supply.—A complaint was received from a Gladstone-road resident that the water supply during the past week had been quite inadequate for even the household necessities of the locality, without taking Into account the quantity required for bathing purposes. The matter was referred to the Water Committee. The Half-holiday Conference.—The Major was appointed to attend the annual conference of local bodies as to the halfholiday on January 20. Hobson Park-road. —Application was made for the completion of the JTobsoh Park-road footpath and for the removal of the lamp at Knos church further along the road to the angle on the opposite side. The Streets Committee were given power to act in tlie matter. The Fire Station. —Improvements asked for by the firemen in the local-fire station *were postponed temporarily.
