THE GOVERNOR.
His Excellency the Governor went out on a fishing excursion in the coastal defence steamer Lady Roberts this afternoon. Yesterday the Governor visited the Veterans' Home. Sir H. Chernside, Governor of Queensland, lunched with Lord Ranfurly at the Northern Club yesterday. In the evening Lord Kanfurlj', accompanied by Lord Northland, A.D.C., attended a performance at His Majesty's Theatre given by the New Zealand Natives Association. His Excellency will be present at the Auckland Club's swimming carnival to be held at Calliope Dock to-morrow in aid of the Veterans' Home, and on Saturday and Tuesday he will be present at the Auckland Racing Club's races at Ellerslie. His Excellency will attend the first performance of "Mistakes Will Happen" at His Majesty's on Saturday night. The Governor will probably leave Auckland at the Jnd of this month. This morning His Excellency received Mr. H. F. Wyatt, the Navy League's envoy, and had a lengthy conversation with him.
