VETERANS' HOME BAZAAR.

The remaining hats of Lord Northland's stall at the Veterans' Home Bazaar awaiting claimants, belong to the following holders of winning tickets:— Ooe, Aubin-street (1193); —. Murray, Police (1212); Dr. Luxford (1220); Mrs Bullock Webster (00) ;W- Woolley, Mount Eden Road (662); Mr Rolleston (510); T. Thompson, Mount Eden (796). The draws in the art union, which, is being conducted by the Ponsonby ladies, will be carried out next week on a day yet to be fixed. The pictures are on view at the EngTSsh and Foreign Piano Co.'s room?, where tickets can still be obtained. It is intended to ask the Governor and the Mayor of Auckland to preside at the drawing, which will be made publicly. Quite apart from them being prizes in the art union, most of these pictures are finely artistic and M'ell-worthy of close inspection. All the 500 copies of Mr Horace Stebbing's new song, "The Two Veterans" were sold- and supplies will be sent South for sale for the benefit of the bazaar fund-

Large numbers of the beautiful book souvenir issued from the printing press of the "New Zealand Graphic" for the benefit of the Veterans' Home, were secured by visitors at the bazaar, but copies may still be obtained at the "Star"' Oiiire. The exquisite, pictures contained in this memento include a photograph of Government House and many choice photographs of the Veterans' Home and its inmates. There are also portraits of Lord and Lady Ranfuriy, Lord Northland, and other well-known persons concerned in the reCent bazaar. None of these pictures will be used in any future publications, and as the proceeds of the sale will still be devoted to the bazaar fund, it is likely that considerable numbers of the mementoes will yet be disposed of. The following rare facsimile autograph letter containing Lady Ranfurly's farewell message to New Zealanders is contained in the memento, and will in time become of great value to collectors: —"November 11, 1903, Wellington. —My friends, —I desire at the moment of departure for Home to wish you 'farewell-' I should have liked to have been present on the occasion of the bazaar in airl of tlie Veterans' Home, and I should have liked to see that National Memorial opened and completed. I thank you for youl invariable courtesy and goodwill to myself, and though we may not meet again, I shall none the less take the deepest interest in your welfare, and shall never .forget New Zealand or cease to think of its people with the kindliest affection. —Your sincere friend, C. E. Ranfuriy."
