MURDER BY ITALIAN BANDITS.
While a detachment of carbiue.rs was attempting to locate a band of brigands in the Vall-doino on July 12, they encountered a number of armed men, one of whom was mounted. He called upon them tc halt, and at the same time his followers discharged their rifles, killing the brigadier in charge of the carbineers.
Under cover of the darkness the brigands fled, followed by the carbineers, who, however, failed to overtake them. The troops In the neighbourhood have been sent to surround the brigands.
