THE JUBILEE OF ST. MATTHEW'S PARISH
"The Story of the Parish" is the title of an interesting pamphlet just published by the Vicar of St. Matthew's. This little work is issued in connection with the, celebration of the jubilee of ot. Matthew's in September next. The pamphlet is illustrated with pictures of the old church of 50 years ago, the present church, and the splendid stone edilice, now being erected. There are also portraits of all the previous ministers of the church and the pruseftt clergy. T!n» history of the church is typical of colonial city churches, arid the pamphlet, i<i« cords the "ups and downs" of St.. Matthew's. It is evident that the Vicar has bright hopes for the future. The pamphlet indicates various schemes which it is hoped may soon be inaugurated in the way of fresh evangelistic, effort. The "Story of the Parish" is printed by the "Star" Publishing Company, and will ue sold at sixpence per copy. We predict that the first edition will be speedily, sold out. ■ 1 ;.-,..■ ■ j
