ROYAL YACHT SQUADRON.

The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron held a very successful social evening in the club's rooms last evening. Mr C. It. Murdoch presided over a • large gathering of members and friends. Captain Voss, of the I'ilikum, was present, and was enthusiastically welcomed. Captain Voss, after thanking the members for their hospitality, gave a very interesting account of thfi cruise of the Tilikum and her experiences. The captain was heartily thanked for his address, and musical honours were accorded him. During the evening songs were contributed by Messrs G. M. Reid, Rupert Mantell, J. R. Gray, jun., J. Endean, jun., and recitations by Messrs S. Mays, P. F. Dattley, and F. J. Whittaker. The Wnlata Quartette Club sang a numher of their onjoyable selections. Mr H. Winkelmann was the ac-

companist, and played selections on the zither.
