FIRE AT NAPIER.

NAPIER, Sunday,

A nine-roomed house in Hastingsstreet, owned and occupied by Mr H. Beaumont, was dc-stroyed by fire last evening; The fire originated in the children's bedroom, and was caused by a lighted candle setting fire to the curtains. The flames had a good holocl when discovered, and very little was saved. The building, which was an old one, and formerly occupied by the cxMayor (Mr. Swan), was, with its contents, insured for £750.
