His Excellency the Governor, accompanied by Lady Ranfurly, left Wellington for Auckland, by the s.s. Rotoiti last night, and will arrive here at about 9.30 a.m. to-mqrrow. His Excellency's family and suite are aboard the Govern-

ment s.s. Tutanekai, which also left Wellington last night, and will arrive dur-

ing to-morrow. The party will remain in Auckland until June. On Monday, May 25, Empire Day, His Excellency will lay the foundation-stone of the Veterans' Home. On May 18th the Japanese squadron will arrive, and the officers will be entertained by the Governor.
