» NEW PLYMOUTH, this day.. Mr Levi Sarten, aged 62, who died to-day. is said to be the first European child landed at New Plymouth from the first ship, on March 31, 1542. Deceased was well known as a member of the Harbour Board. DUNEDIN, this day. Mr. Alexander Bartleman, formerly manager of the Bank of Otago, and latterly secretary of several mining companies, died yesterday after & long illness, _ .^_^.„^__.,^.*^
