THE FRENCH NAVY.
PARIS, November 15
In the Chamber of Deputies M, felletan* the Minister for Marine explained that he had stopped t&6 construction of three battleships because the year's estimates of naval expenditure had been exceeded by 20,066,000 francs. He was prepared to execute the larte Minister for Marine's programme of construction, which the Chamber thereupon enddrsed, and voted confidence in the Ministry.
France is spending 12 f OOO,OOO francs to resume the programme submitted Toy the late Minister for Marine.
