THE ANGLICAN BISHOPRIC.

CABLE PEOM BIaHOP MOOR-

HOUSE

"We understand, that, in reply to a cabled inquiry, Dr. Moorhouse, Bishop of Manchester, who had been requested to make nominations of, Engilish clerics for the office of Bishop o\ i Auckland, rendered vacant by the death of the late Dr. Cowie, has cabled that several suitable names have been forwarded by post. The Diocesan Synod, witji whom the appointment rests, meets in the last week of November, by which date Dr. Moorhouse's recommendations will have come to hand. No doubt His Lordship deemed it better to furnish full details by mail, insteal of cabling the names, so that at present it is not known what selections he has made.
