CAMBRIDGE, this day,
A six-roomed house in Alpha street, occupied by. Mr. Isherwood, j)hotogrfipher,' and owned by Mr. Thomas Nixon, was destroyed by fire at two this morning. The inmates escaped, but the eldest lad had a narrow escape of being smothered. The fire started in the kitchen. A portion' of the furniture was saved. The house wus insured in the Royal Company for £100, and the fuvniture in the ;South"British for.£lso. .
Great satisfaction is expressed here at the new train service, which' suits splendidly.
