AN ELECTORAL ROLL CASE.
INVERCARGILL, this day,
A case of an unusual nature engaged the attention of the Magistrate's Court to-day. Peter Mcßwan, the registrar of electors for Invercargill, was charged with, refusing to supply an extract from the electoral roll to the informant, J. S. Baxter; with omitting to publicly exhibit on the board outside the registrar's office the names of the electors struck off, and omitting to place certain names on the roll. The defence was that no roll existed till it was printed and signed by the registrar. The Magistrate reserved his decision.
