ROLLING STOCK DAMAGED

ASHBURTON, Sunday. Information has been received that

an accident happened on Friday ort the jig- line, which connects the Mount Somers' Coal Company's the Ashburton County Council tramline, and the' railway branch line from Ashburton to Mount Somers.. It <, appears that the man in temporary charge of the jig , line sent by mistake the up-train of empty-trucks' ton the down train line, the result being" a collision and general smash lip of rolling-stock and haulage gear, the extent of which is not fully known. Fortunately no one connected with the line or the coal mine was hurt.
