We, the undersigned, being propertyholders, ratepayers, or residents having qualifications to vote at a Parliamentary election, whose qualification is In that portion of the Borough of Grey Lynn being: Sections 1, 2, 27, 28, 6G, and 67 of the Borough of Grey Lynn, and containing a population of about , and Including some electors, humbly pray:— That having, learned that it is proposed by the Electoral Commissioners to assign the aforesaid portion of the Borough of Grey Lynn to constitute a portion of the electorate of the City of Auckland, and holding that our interests are in the electorate in which the major portion of the borough lies, and in which we directly or indirectly pay municipal rates, and believing that expression of our views with regard to general legislation may be made more directly by our inclusion in the Grey Lynn electorate than in that of the City of Auckland, and as the municipal offices of the said borough in which very much of the public business of the, district is transacted are in the aforesoid portion which it is proposed to assign to the City of Auckland electorate. Now we, your petitioners, therefore humbly pray that you will take the above mentioned circumstances into considera-1 tion before the boundaries of the Grey j Lynn electorate are decided, and that you j will cause that the whole of the Borough of Grey Lynn shall lie within the electorate of Grey Lynn. And your petitioners will ever pray.
