THE PREMIER AND THE MAORIS.
A SYDNEY CRITICISM
, . (Received 10.50 a.m.)
SYDNEY, this day.
The "Telegraph," referring to what it terms Mr Seddon's "double-shuffle," says he found himself in a different atmosphere in Australia, where the propouriders of the schemes for giving- the natives their own way in warfare were palpably in danger of being chilled by reason and civilised views about war, which prevailed adversely to them. • Mr Seddon .perceived .the change, and proceeded to conform to it by offering his Maori friends as a sacrifice.
