HARBOUR BOARD.
A'special, meeting of the Auckland Harbour Board was proceeding this afternoon to consider the following recommendations of the sub-commit-tee appointed to draw up instructions for the guidance of the secretary; Mr Brigham: —
of Sub-Commit-tee. —That the secretary be instructed (1) To negotiate ■with the Admiralty in reference to the increase of subsidy and Sinking Fund, and also as to dates of payment of some; (2) That no new machinery is to be provided unless authorised by the Board; (3) That all offers in reference to subsidy or Sinking- Fund be telegraphed to' the Board and approved before same is accepted; (4) that amounts of tenders be telegraphed, and no tender accepted unless approved by the Board; (-5) That a letter of instructions in conformity with . the foregoing resolutions be given by the chairman to the secretary,,
Power of Attorney.—That power of attorney as amended be recommended to the Board for completion.
