The Bom Mr Lewis, Premier of Tasmania, has written a-.strong letter to thei Federal Government resenting the tyrannical powers assumed in connection- with t the sweeps correspondence, which . had directed thai all Government correspondence with Adams should be delivered by hand instead of through, the post. Mr Lewis adds': "lam driven by your action to direct that no proceedings shall be instituted by us if letters from any person addressed to ' Adams' are delivered "by hand instead of through the post-office, as prescribed _.by the State law."
