At a meeting of the Devonport Borough Council held last night the Mayor (Mr M. Niccol) in the chair, there were present Crs. H. J. Baulf, J. A. Walker, J. E. Mason, J. W. Harrison, K. Logan, jun., and W. Handley. Valuation Rolls. — The town clerk of Sydenham, Christchurch, wrote that the Conference of Delegates of Local Bodies is to be held in Christchurch on the 16tn Inst, and asked if the Council could arrange to be represented thereat, or* supply him before the Conference with information regarding the compilation of valuation rolls.—The town clerk was instructed to supply the necessary data. The cost of works in the borough for the fortnight ending March 27 wns £47 17/11. Accounts amounting to £182 12/6 were passed for payment. Footpaths.—A letter, signed by a number of residents in Summer-street, asking the Council to form a path past their residences on the western side of Summer-street, was referred to the Streets and Works Committee.—Mr Taylor wrote that the footpath by his propert v at the corner of Cameron-street required attention.—Referred to the Streets and Works Committee, with power to act.
