DIX'S GAIETY COMPANY.
The City Hall was crowded to thei doors last evening, when Dixs Gaiety Company entered on its fourth year of existence. The programme went splendidly from start to finish, encores being freely demanded and responded to. Miss Pearl Lovell, an Australian serio, made her first creating a very favourable impression. She received double encores in parts of the programme. Miss Lizzie Kirk made her reappearance after a tour South, and the warmth of her reception showed that she was not forgotten. Mr Frank Leon also re-appeared after a brief absence, and was very well received. Miss Molly Bentley, one of the most popular artists who has yet appeared with Mr Dix, was warmly welcomed back to the company. Mr Frank Clark caused great laughter by an exceedingly clever telephone sketch. Messrs Joe Cowan and Fred Rivenhall's comic items were much enjoyed. Miss Olive Lenton was very successful in her items, and Mr Ernest Fitts was loudly encored for his singing of "Good-bye, Dolly Gray." The same programme will be repeated to-night
